In the month of June, Nelson Enterprise Technology Services Welcomed Juni Pickering to be a part of their summer intern program. Here Pickering has developed and improved his business skills in communication, technology, quantitative reasoning, and acquired the value of teamwork. He also has observed and participated in business operations and decision-making, and had the opportunity to meet professional role models and potential mentors who can provide guidance, feedback, and support for his future.
Pickering voiced his keenness to work in an office by stating: “I didn’t know exactly what to think or expect coming to working in an office, but I was ready and looking forward to the new experience.” NETS, being Juni’s first position in an office atmosphere, was excited to have him aboard. Nets assisted Pickering in developing a solid work ethic and professional demeanor, as well as a commitment to ethical conduct and social responsibility.
The environment here at NETS is quite mature and tranquil, demonstrating how to behave in the workplace. Simply working in the office and getting used to everything here at NETS will definitely prepare Pickering for whatever his next position may be after graduating college. Just observing our everyday movements and procedures has demonstrated the value of teamwork, and how people can come together to get things done.
Ending this summer, Pickering is coming upon his senior year at Campbell University. He is currently a part of the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business Program, majoring in Business Administration and Communications. We have enjoyed Pickering here at NETS and will be honor to see him again next year, maybe as an employee!
